20. Celebrating my daughter's first birthday with the whole family!
21. Seeing the smile on my son's face after getting his first hit in his first coach-pitch game.It had been a rough evening. It was hot, I wasn't able to find Ethan's baseball hat, Ethan had had a bad day at school, and he was scared of the pitching machine they were using for the game. Ethan was already in a bad mood, and started to cry after striking out his first time at bat. I tried to help him, I even threw the ball with him while his team was batting. It was then I realized he had a left handed glove instead of a right handed glove (my mistake) which was making things difficult. Then, I accidentally hit him in the head while we were playing catch which really made him cry and brought me to tears. We hit a real low point, but luckily Papa was there to lend support and encouragement. With his help, we worked with Ethan on his batting. At first Ethan was discouraged, but soon he was hitting the ball with real regularity. The last time his team was up to bat, he got called up. I watched nervously as he swung and missed four times (in coach pitch they get five strikes). Then, on the fifth swing he hit the ball way down the 3rd base line and ran to first base. I was SO EXCITED, jumping up and down and cheering for him. I couldn't have been prouder if it was the winning run of the world series! The batters on his team after him got enough hits to bring him home, so he was proud of that, too. When the game was over he kept asking, "Aren't you proud of me?" I was, I was just so proud of him. Then he asked, "Are you going to tell about it on Twitter?" So I did, and on Facebook, too. And here. A baseball player AND a computer geek. I couldn't be prouder :).
